This year has been a very special one when it comes to expensive weddings. We know Kate Middlelton lead off the dance wearing a McQueen gown (it's just my opinion or she completed ruled the press leaving prince William in the background?) then was the turn of Kate Moss in Galliano and Charlene Wittstock in Armani Privè who married price Albert of Monaco. They have been very different brides and the dresses they chose i think they reflect their personality. Kate Moss is always against the current choosing Galliano who has been abandoned by everyone during these months. The dress is daring and leaves the legs exposed but i find it very romantic and somehow hippy;i love all those gold details and random crystals. Kate Middleton chose McQueen, her dress is classical, a lot more classical than everyone would expect from McQueen label, maybe her directions have guided Sarah Burton in the design process. Charlene wore a very elegant Armani Privè dress with the longest train and it took 2,500 hours of work,40,000 Swarovski crystals,20,000 mother of pearl teardrops,30,000 stones in gold shades,3,000 kilometres of travel for fittings in Montecarlo,700 hours of work for the embroidery“kilometres” of embroidery thread coated in platinum,50 meters of silk duchesse,80 meters of silk organza,for the veil: 20 meters of silk tulle, 100 hours of work for the embroidery,sorry i had to write down these numbers because they really impressive! The fact is the dress has an effortless elegance and know we know how "effortless" it is,it's couture for sure. What do you think of these brides?What's your favorite? What dress would you wear?

Quest'anno è stato l'anno dei matrimoni da ricordare:Kate Middlelton ha aperto le danze (si lei perchè William è stato appena menzionato dalle cronache) indossando un McQueen,poi è stato il turno di Kate Moss che ha indossato Galliano mentre Charlene Wittstock ha chiuso la stagione nientemeno che in Armani Privè sposando il principe Alberto di Monaco. Kate Moss è sempre contro corrente ed ha scelto di vestire Galliano nonostante il designer sia stato abbandonato da tutti negli ultimi mesi. Osa mostrando le gambe ma  il suo vestito è comuque molto romantico, hippy in qualche modo ed adoro i dettagli ricamati in oro e i cristalli sparsi qua e là. Il vestito di Kate Middlelton è nell'insieme molto classico,elegante ma sicuramente meno stravagante di quanto ci si aspetta dal marchio McQueen,evidentemente i consigli della sposa hanno guidato Sarah Burton nel progetto del vestito. Poi c'è Charlen in Armani Privè,un vero capolavoro di eleganza e sartorialità che ha richiesto più di 2500 ore di lavoro per essere completato. Qual è il vostro vestito preferito? Last week we all followed the royal wedding with interest.We all wanted to see the bride's dress but something i was curious about were the hats guests would show off !
Hat is an accessory we often forget about. We do wear it sometimes but our hats are far away from the extravagance of english ones. Many hats worn at Kate and William wedding were designed by Philip Treacy. Treacy calls hats "a cheaper form of cosmetic surgery" because they can transform facial proportions."When you meet someone, you meet their face," Treacy said. "It's the most potent part of the body to embellish."
Even if we won't go to the formal events where fancy hats are required we can make our own elegant head accessory adding some details like veils and feathers to normal hats or boring plain headbands.



La scorsa settimana abbiamo tutti seguito con interesse il matrimonio di Kate e William. Tutti volevano vedere il vestito della sposa ma con altrettanta impazienza era attesa la sfilata dei cappelli. Il cappello è un accessorio che spesso dimentichiamo di considerare nel nostro look e anche quelli che compriamo sono ben lontani dagli stravaganti cappellini inglesi. Molti cappelli indossati al matrimonio sono stati realizzati dal designer Philip Treacy. Egli chiama i cappelli "una forma economica di chirurgia estetica" perchè possono cambiare le proporzioni del viso. "Quando incontri qualcuno,incontri la sua faccia,per questo è la parte del corpo più potente da decorare" continua il designer inglese.
Anche se non parteciperemo agli eventi formali in cui il cappello è di rigore possiamo sempre ispirarci alle creazioni di Philip Treacy e aggiungere dei dettagli eleganti come piume e velette a dei cappelli e cerchietti che già abbiamo e sfoggiarli al prossimo matrimonio di famiglia.

Yesterday i almost cried when i saw the new spring summer 2011 collection of Armani Privè by Giorgio Armani.
An incredible collection from the absolute talent,the pure genius of Giorgio Armani.
The inspirations are precious stones,their cuts,the light they reflect so fabrics become liquid,lightened by movement,faces are embellished by a lace mask full of stones.
Heads are decorated by the hats designed by Philip Treacy.They look like flying saucers and dresses look lightened by electrical discharges.We are in the future.
Dresses have essential but surprising cuts. Borsers are lifted,other dresses are cut in the middle and seem floating around the model.
Colours are those of precious stones:red,blue,acid green,but even grey and sky blue.
This collection is a perfect example of innovation but with supreme elegance,the creation of a genious, king Giorgio, who continues to inspire many others.


Ieri sono rimasta letteralmente a bocca aperta di fronte alla sfilata Armani Privè di Giorgio Armani.
Una collezione incredibile, assolutamente originale,un'opera di quelle che ti fa comprendere cosa sia il talento e l'inossidabile creatività. L'ispirazione sono le pietre preziose e le loro sfaccettature,la luce che riflettono.Così le stoffe diventano liquide,riflettenti, illuminate dai movimenti. Si affacciano alla passerella silhouette incastonate nelle pietre preziose,anche i volti sono preziosi velati da una maschera da schermidrice luccicante.
Le teste sono coperte dai cappelli di Philip Treacy veri e propri dischi volanti ed ecco che i bagliori dei vestiti sembrano scariche elettriche e le linee essenziali degli abiti del futuro.
Gli orli sono sollevati come mossi dal vento o tagliati al centro e sembrano galleggiare intorno alla modella.
I colori sono quelli delle pietre più prezione,blu rosso e verde ma anche grigio e azzurro.
Questa collezione è un perfetto esempio di innovazione e di eleganza estrema,un'opera del talento e della creatività inossidabile di un genio, Re Giorgio, che continua a inspirare molti altri.
