DIY idea: studded shoes

These shoes are the proof that everything looks better, more interesting if studded. I can't wait to grab a pair of shoes and stud them. Even if we can have access to the back of the leather the shoes are made of we can fill the inside of the stud with sylicon and glue them on the shoes!

Queste scarpe sono la prova che qualunque capo acquista più carattere se è ricoperto di borchie! Non vedo l'ora di prendere un paio di scarpe e ricoprirle di borchie. Anche se non possiamo accedere al retro della pelle di cui sono fatte le scarpe per inserirle basterà riempire le borchie di silicone e incollarle sulle scarpe.

DIY ombrè nails

 

two colors of your choice and the top coat

due colori a vostra scelta e il top coat

 start applying one color on your nails and let it dry

stendete il primo colore e lasciatelo asciugare

apply the second color at the end of the nail and before it dries apply the top coat insisting with the brush at the point where one color changes in the other you'll see the 2 colors blending together

if you don't get it right the first time keep trying!

 applicate il secondo colore sulla punta dell'unghia e prima che si asciughi stendete il top coat. Ripassate più volte sulla linea di separazione tra i due colori e noterete i due colori mescolarsi.

ecco i due colori mescolati, l'effetto che dovreste ottenere è l'illusione di un colore che sfumi nell'altro e la vostra manicure è finita!

DIY idea: neon chains

get this nice set of bracelet at Topshop for as little as £5

Turn chains neon with spray paint can be a good idea to bring old bag handles,bracelets or belts directly in the new season. Put your chains over a newspaper,go in an open place and spray the paint. Let the chains dry,then spray a trasparent sealer to avoid the paint to rub off. We prefere spray paint every time we have to paint a tridimensional object with tiny hidden spots that wouldn't be easy to reach with a paintbrush.


Spruzzare di vernice in colori neon delle catenelle può essere una buona idea per catapultare vecchie tracolle,bracciali o cinte nella nuova stagione. Mettete le catenelle su un foglio di giornale e spruzzatele di vernice in un luogo aperto. La vernice spray è una ottima alternativa al pennello quando dobbiamo dipingere qualcosa di tridimensionale con angoli nascosti. Una volta asciutta una spruzzata di plastificante trasparente ed il gioco è fatto!

DIY idea: mini + maxi skirt combo

Asos skirt

Maxi skirts are a must this season. Is it a trend anyone can pull off? In my opinion maxi skirs will look best on tall,lean girls,so what we can do? This asos skirt is the solution. Basically it's a short skirt with a maxi skirt over it in a sheer fabric. I think it adds a lot of mistery to the outfit and neutralizes the disadvantages of a maxi skirt (that makes legs look shorter). Plus we can copy this look at home. We'll take a rectangular piece of sheer fabric wider than the hips width,fold it in half and make a vertical seam on one side,now we'll obtain a "tube" . We'll then put an elastic band at the waist and the skirt is done. We'll wear it over a short skirt and the look is completed.

Le maxi gonne sono un must di questa estate ma non tutti le possono indossare! Sicuramente faranno più figura su ragazze alte e magre,come fare allora? Questa gonna di Asos è la soluzione. Praticamente è una gonna lunga fatta di una stoffa trasparente indossata sopra una gonna corta. Secondo me questa opzione aggiunge mistero al look neutralizzando gli svantaggi della gonna lunga (che tende ad accorciare le gambe). Per copiare questo look a casa basterà acquistare un rettangolo di stoffa trasparente più largo della circonferenza fianchi e lungo fino ai piedi. A questo mettete la stoffa doppia e fate una cucitura verticale da un lato e otterrete un "tubo". Cucite un elastico in vita e la gonna è fatta. Completate il look indossando la gonna lunga sopra una mini che già avete.

DIY idea: the feather clutch

Look how cute is this feather clutch! It would be cool to decorate a bag we already own with some feathers! Feathers are sold sewed on trims or we can take them out of a feather boa and glue them onto the clutch making several layers.

Che carina questa borsetta decorata con le piume! Possiamo realizzarne una attaccando delle piume su una borsetta che già possediamo. Sono vendute attaccate su delle striscie di stoffa o possiamo staccarle da un boa di piume e incollarle sulla borsa,troverete tutto in vendita in merceria.

Two blouses to make one. It's a different look very easy to obtain. Take two blouses in different colors and cut the back in half. Sew together the back again after mixing the colors.


Il mix di due camicette di due colori diversi. Semplicissima da realizzare basta tagliarle a metà al centro dietro e rifare la cucitura dopo aver mischiato le metà!

Christopher Kane amazing jackets for spring summer 2011

The biker jacket is my favorite piece of cloth! It doesn't matter how many i buy i always fall in love with the lasted interpretations of the classic design.
Here's a couple of fantastic jackets that really hit my heart and my imagination!
Both designed by Christopher Kane,the first in galaxy print and chiffon volants,the second one in a net fabric in a bright neon orange. The lack of funcionality of the orange jacket (it can't keep you warm and won't keep you dry if it rains either) really entertains me: it's made for the sake of fashion and style only. And speaking of bikers you've probably already seen new Gaga's video "Judas" where apostoles are a gang of riders,seriously only Gaga could come up with this idea!







Sportive,da rocker o da motociclista le giacche in pelle sono tra i miei capi preferiti. Versatile come pochi fa la sua bella figura sul jeans ma anche su un vestito elegante. Non importa quante ne compri sono sembre colpita dalle nuove interpretazioni dei modelli classici.
Ecco qui un ottimo esempio di giacche che mi rubano il cuore,le proposte primaverili di Christopher Kane per la primavera.
La prima con la stampa galattica è arricchita di volant di chiffon,la seconda in rete e in un colore arancione shocking! La totale mancanza di funzionalità della giacca arancione mi diverte:non serve a scaldare nè a riparare dalla pioggia,il suo scopo scopo è assai più alto: è disegnata per essere alla moda. Parlando di motociclisti avrete sicuramente visto il nuovo video di Lady Gaga, "judas" dove gli apostoli sono una gang di motociclisti, solo lei avrebbe potuto farsi venire un'idea del genere.

Quanto sono divertenti questi pantaloni a righe! Diverse stoffe rigate sono state combinate per ottenere un mix molto interessante,quasi ipnotico.
Possiamo divertirci a mixare pezzi di stoffe rigate diverse per ottenere vestiti,magliette e gonne.
La bella notizia è che per copiare questo look sono necessari piccoli pezzi di stoffa di ogni fantasia quindi possiamo comprare degli scampoli riducendo al minimo i costi!

I really like this Vogue Mexico editorial,the solid colors of the backgrounds exalt the beautiful patterned dresses worn by Crystal Renn. The photoshoot is a tribute to the mexican artist Frida Kahlo.The styling is a mix between a traditional look and the spring trends in fact different prints are put together and colors are vivid. Vogue Mexico ricorda Frida Kalho nell'editoriale di aprile. La pittrice messicana è interpretata da Crystal Renn. In queste foto gli sfondi colorati esaltano le stampe floreali sapientemente mescolate a colori sgargianti. Lo styling segue quindi i trend di stagione anche se il risultato ha un sapore molto tradizionale e regionale. DIY Maxi neon corset clutch

the inspiration:the maxi clutch and the neon colors trend
you need:
a piece of black leather
eyelets
neon shoe laces



draw a V with a chalk



following the tracings add eyelets



add neon shoe laces

with other laces make a braid to make the strap
This bag is convertible:wear it with the neon laces for spring or without them for a rock concert!

DIY bow draped skirt

the inspiration

If you have been reading this blog for a while you may know that a draped skirt was on my to do list and today i come back to you with a tutorial.
i've done a simple skirt and then with a rectangular piece of fabric i've decorated its front.

What do you need:

1. a skirt
2. a rectangular piece of sheer or lightweighted fabric (i've used a 1,5x1 m piece)
3. a mannequin or the help of a friend (go here to figure out how to make a mannequin with less than $20,i made my own,it's not pretty but it works fine)

Let's start:

1. let your friend wear the skirt or put it on your dress form
2. pin the rectangular piece of fabric on the skirt,the widest side goes around the waist,leave the same amount of fabric at each side

3. at the centre or the panel, with the hand squeeze the fabric up till the waist and pin it


4. the rectangular is now pinned at the centre
5. you have some excess fabric at the waist
6. take the edge of the rectangular and pull it up,as you do it bigger ripples take form and the front edge becomes rounder;
you'll find in your hand a "bunny ear" shaped piece of fabric; to make the front edge rounder pull more fabric from the movable edge

pin it to the back of the skirt (you can decide where if nearer to the front or all on the back)

repeat points 6 to 8 at the other side

if you see pointy edges at the end of the draping (this depends on the width of the rectangular piece of fabric)cut them and give to the hem a rounded shape

and you have your bow shaped draping

1. now sew the panel over the skirt at the waist line,the bow and the borders,cut the excess fabric (those bunny ears)

Tassels necklaces:super easy to do,extreme dramatic result!
Take a chain necklace and flat leather cord (a cheap alternative can be a rope)

1. Cut a long string
2. fold it in half
3. knot it in a chain loop
4. repeat for every loop
5. hit the streets

Collana con frangie: velocissima da realizzare,figurone assicurato.
Avete bisogno di una collana con la catenella, diversi metri di cordino di pelle (un'alternativa più economica può essere un gomitolo di corda)

1. tagliate un lungo laccio
2. piegatelo in due
3. annodatelo in un cerchietto della collana
4. ripetete l'operazione per tutti i cerchietti
5. sfoggiate la nuova collana

use acrylic colors

protect the shoes from stains with paper scotch tape and use it to define different color areas.
Paint and let it dry.
