Most of the time trousers are like the plain canvas of our outfit. They're a starting point but they are rarely the outstanding piece of an outfit. They are rarely heavy decorated. All this happened before spring summer 2012 shows took place. Welcome in the season of the patterned trousers.

I pantaloni sono raramente i protagonisti di un outfit. Non importa se colorati o neri, sono un punto di partenza ma raramente distoglieranno l'attenzione dal resto. Questo accadeva prima che avessero luogo le sfilate della primavera 2012. Questa è la stagione dei pantaloni stampati con le fantasie più colorate ed eccentriche ispirate ai foulard. Acquistando questi pantaloni, per una volta la parte migliore del look sarà quella dalla vita in giù.

To loafer or not to loafer?

Putting together some the items in my shopping wishist I noticed it came out a pretty aggressive combo!  I think leather trousers are a must have for a girl who think at Kate Moss as a style icon. They're usually expensive so why don't get them at a discounted price? I finally found some gold and punk accessories at a competive price and a gold watch I like: it's simple and it has a vintage feel.

This winter we saw loafers becoming more and more popular. Until now when women wanted to take a break from heels, be comfortable but still be stylish they chose ballerinas. Loafers were considered comfortable and young (think at keds or vans) but very casual. A lot of time ago only the pope used to wear custom made loafers (and Michael Jackson),  later on a  few welthy entrepreneurs started to like them and wear them in formal events: it's loafers mania. Loafers have now arrived into women wardrobe. I judged them too casual at first but now I definitely like the rock versions you see above. What about you? Are you into loafers or not?

La mia wishlist di oggetti da acquistare ai saldi è decisamente aggressiva. Beh i pantaloni in pelle sono un must have per una ragazza che considera Kate Moss una style icon. Essendo spesso costosi sono il perfetto acquisto da fare ai saldi. Da Asos ho trovato dei bracciali punk borchiati  e l'orologio dorato : essenziale e dall'appeal vintage.

Quest'inverno abbiamo assistito all'ascesa del trend delle loafers. Prima del loro avvento, quando le donne scendevano dai tacchi, sceglievano di indossare le ballerine rimanendo eleganti e alla moda. Fino ad oggi le loafers erano un scarpa giovane e comoda (come le keds e le vans) ma sicuramente molto casual. Molto tempo fa erano conosciute come le scarpe del papa (e di Michael Jackson), il solo ad indossarle in eventi pubblici, poi alcuni imprenditori lo hanno imitato. Oggi le loafers sono arrivate nei guardaroba delle donne. Personalmente le ho giudicate troppo casual all'inizio mentre ora indosserei volentieri le varianti un po' rock illustrate qui in alto. E voi che ne pensate? Indossate o no le loafers?

DIY idea: track trousers

Often associated with sportwear,  track trousers are going to be a big fashion trend of spring 2012.
They're basically a  pair of trousers with a colored band along the lateral seam of the trousers. This band can be used to add a hint of colour like Gucci did obtaining young and sporty trousers, or to add elegance like Cavalli did adding a gold band. Bands can be thin or wide. Using wide bands you can made a fab pair of color block trousers and if you use a darker color on the outside you'll obtain a smart slimming effect!
How can we make track trousers at home? The quickest way is to sew a narrow band (it can be gros grain for example) over the lateral seam of your trousers! This way you have a straight seam you can follow.  If you want to make color block trousers you can paint the outside of the trousers (with fabric colors) or have a look at Inspiration&Realisation diy project in which Donatella cleverly used two pair of trousers to make one!


Anche se prestati dal guardaroba sportivo, i pantaloni con le striscie verticali sulla cucitura laterale saranno protagonisti della primavera 2012. Proposti da molti stilisti, essi diventano grintosi se la striscia è in un colore energetico come l'arancione come nella proposta di Gucci o eleganti con la striscia è dorata come ci mostra Cavalli. La striscia si allarga nelle proposte di C'N'C Costume National e il pantalone diventa colorblock. Acquistate i pantaloni in cui il colore più scuro è all'esterno, il contrasto delle tonalità infatti vi regalerà un effetto snellente. Come replicare in casa il look track trousers? Il modo più semplice è quello di cucire una striscia di gros grain nel colore da voi scelto sulla cucitura laterale del pantalone, la cucitura esistente vi aiuterà anche ad andar dritto! Se volete invece il pantalone color block potete dipingere la striscia esterna con i colori per la stoffa oppure seguire il diy di Inspiration&Realisation in cui Donatella ci spiega come utilizzare due paia di pantaloni per realizzarne uno!

Macramè and crochet dresses made their appereance in spring 2011 runways.Macramè is a textile obtained by knotting the thread.Gucci and Cavalli designs are really sophisticated,i wanted to show you a Ferragamo sweater back from 2009.

These days i've been thinking on the use of tulle to give structure to a fabric.
What i've done here is a pair over-knee boots-leggings.
The use of tulle allow to cut off pieces of fabric and obtain unexpected graphical effects.
These overknee can be paired with colored tights or flashy leggings.
I could sew them on an existing pair of ankle boots but i left them without the feet so i'll be able to experiment them with open toe shoes too.
I've used a suede like fabric,stiffened it,cut it and then i've sewn on the back side a stiff tulle white fabric with silver thread.

Have you seen some images from the fashion weeks?
Winter lights up of bright colors.
And these bright colors mean that a brighter future awaits us.
During hard times collections tend to be sober,designers tend to imagine classical dresses,cuts that don't get old over time to convince the consumer of luxury clothes to invest in their work despite the crisis.
These bright colors mean that the economic crisis is over that customers started to buy luxury again and that designers can go back to their creativity ad imagine more daring clothes.
And even if we are not able to buy luxury we can be amazed by their creative work again and hope that the recovery of the economy will positively affect our lives too. In the meantime our optimism will be shown by the colorful dresses will wear the next winter.

L'inverno si colorerà di colori sgargianti.
Ed i colori sgargianti testimoniano il luminoso futuro che ci attende.
Durante la crisi economica le collezioni di moda tendono ad essere sobrie,gli stilisti disegnano vestiti classici,tagli che non invecchiano con il passare delle stagioni per convincere i consumatori del mercato del lusso ad investire nelle loro creazioni nonostante la recessione.
Questi colori sgargianti, i modelli sensuali ed inusuali ci raccontano che la crisi sta finendo, che i consumatori sono tornati e che gli stilisti possono liberamente dar sfogo alla loro creatività e regalarci il sogno della moda.
E anche se noi non possiamo comprare capi di lusso possiamo sperare che la ripresa dell'economia abbia delle ricadute positive anche nella nostra vita. Nel frattempo il nostro ottimismo passerà attraverso i capi colorati che indosseremo nel prossimo inverno.
