DIY idea: hippy vibe

Hoping spring finally decides to come we can treat ourselves with some hippy inspired accessories.
I have seen a lot of fun headbands around so why don't make one? We can start with an elastic band and then add details to it like flowers and feathers.We can sew a piece of fabric on the elastic and then glue over it our desired embellishes or we can stick fake flowers with safety pins over the elastic for a last minute headband.
Not fancy wearing an headband? Try the rope belt with a flower instead of a buckle for a young, fresh look.



Sperando che la primavera alla fine arrivi veramente possiamo divertirci ad indossare qualche accessorio hippy. Le fasce per capelli sono tornate di moda,perchè non realizzarne una personalizzata?
Possiamo cominciare con un semplice elastico al quale possiamo cucire un pezzetto di stoffa che funga da base e poi incollarci sopra fiori finti e piume. Oppure fissare i fiori sull'elastico con delle spille da balia realizzando la fascia in pochissimo tempo.
Se indossare una fascia vi sembra troppo impegnativo provate allora la cinta di corda fissata con un fiore, per un look divertente e sbarazzino.

The DIY inspiration of today comes from these cut out dresses really in the moment.The unespected cut out detail on the ribs is strategic,sexy but not vulgar is wearable by everyone.
I made a selection of these dresses for you, you can click on the images to shop them.
If you have some time we can have some fun cutting out a dress we already own.Try on the dress and in front of the mirror visualize where to cut the dress, on your ribs.Mark with pins where width and the height of the cut,just where it has to start and where to end.
Take off the dress draw a triangular shape,the shape of the part you have to cut, pin it on your dress and cut it out paying attention to leave space for a seam,make sure you leave enought space at the center to keep the dress together.
Refine the cut with a seam.
You can cut the dress only on the front till the lateral sewing or cut it both sides.
You can sew on the borders of your cut a beaded,sequined or studded trim if you like and you're done.

I find very interesting the dress sold at bona drag, the knot detaling on the front.
It looks like this dress can be done with a huge t-shirt dress or a big men's shirt.
Plus for a more parisienne,glamour look you can even make this dress with silk scarfs, even famous brands ones like gucci or hermes turning your diy project in a unique fashion piece.

One singer multiple fashion souls.This singer crossed many decades and experimented many styles,i love her style of the sixties,hippy chic.A lot of elements can be copied from her style:the coat with the fur or mongolian trimming,the shift dress,the tassled waist coat and the flares.She's always been a rocker inside and this is the style she's sporting now with leather,lace and nude look.She sported a lot of crazy hairstyles too.I saw a picture of her where she looks like lady gaga,this pic must be from the eighties,it's funny isn't it?


Una cantante,tante anime fashion.Questa cantante ha attraversato artisticamente molte decadi e il suo stile è cambiato molto sperimentando nuovi look.Adoro il suo stile anni 60,hippy chic.Molti elementi del suo ook possono essere copiati:il cappotto con il bordo in pelliccia,il vestitino a trapezio,il gilet con frange,i pantaloni a zampa.Patty Pravo ha sempre avuto un'anima rock e questo è lo stile che le vediamo indossare oggi,fatto di pizzi,pelle e nude look.Ha cambiato anche molte pettinature.Ho trovato una sua foto nella quale sembra lady gaga ed è degli anni 80,divertente no?
