DIY inspiration :Versace fluffy dress

Feather dresses have recently been spotted in the latest Versace ad campain,over the Elle US cover and worn by Naomi Campbell. Like furs,feather cloths are the right choice when we want to make an appereance. I recently found this fluffy orange fabric you see above and i thought it could nicely fake feathers so during the next days i'll show you my diy project based on a Versace dress.

Così come le pellicce (finte),le piume sono sicuramente dei capi che catalizzano l'attenzione. Recentemente mi sono imbattuta in questa stoffa arancione ed ho pensato che potesse simulare l'effetto delle piume. Nei prossimi giorni vi mostrerò il vestito che ho realizzato ispirandomi al vestito di Versace.

Talented new designers whom presented brilliant collection for Spring 2011 David Koma and Mary Katrantzou worked for Topshop creating 2 capsule collections.
The pieces they put together are great but can't compete with the fabulous ones presented in their runways. Maybe i'm asking too much but i wished we could own something vaguely related to their collections if not in the visionary prints (speaking of Katrantzou) at least in the lines.


I talentuosi designer Mary Katrantzou e David Koma hanno lavorato con Topshop per presentare nei prossimi giorni due mini collezioni sicuramente costituite da bei vestiti ma che non reggono il confronto con i pezzi fantastici già presentati da loro sulla passerella.
Forse pretendo troppo ma avrei voluto poter ritrovare lo stile delle loro sfilate che tanto mi hanno colpito anche in queste capsule collection di topshop se non nelle stampe visinarie (parlo della Katrantzou) almeno nelle linee.

Angelo Marani s/s 2011:playful young and fresh

I really enjoy this Angelo Marani collection, it's fun and really colorful.
There are really interesting pieces put together and a lot of variety.
Even if the main inspiration of the collection are the 80s we find a really elegant lace 50s swimsuit.

We have the pleated skirt we've already seen in Versus Versace collection by Cristopher Kane.

Then the coloured leopard print in jumpsuits and in the duo crop top with belly button exposed (from the 90s) and shorts.

It's not over we have leather too in a yellow black dress then leather vests and trousers.

I love the details of borders: the swimsuit seam is scalopped, the black yellow dress has a curvy seamed leather corset and the white corset has a laced up kind of belt sewn over.

Then there are a lot of sequins and oversized blazers.

If you're afraid of getting annoyed with fashion easily this collection is for you!

Gareth Pugh s/s 2011 from space and beyond

Gareth Pugh did it again and he brings us in a world populated by space samurai. We start with clean cuts in white detailed with laser cuts.This panna colour is fantastic and i like the volant on hips the increase the ratio between waist and hips giving a more feminine look event with this very clean model. The fabric looks heavy but as the model walks the white trousers seems soft. The laser cut white silhouettes look geometrically cracked i like this effect. I like this collection because shows a concept and its opposite at the same time:the clean look give way to flashy silver metal eccessive dresses. The result is ipnotic i specially like the waterfall jacket. Notes for the catwalk: men with bags and the rigid metal accessories: belts and necklaces.
