 Since i put my eyes on Dolce&Gabbana spring 2011collection i fell in love with those cute lace dresses. Perfect for summer (worn with a sunkissed skin) the lace dress is a classic in a romantic,chic wardrobe. Spring crochet magazines are filled with patterns to make one of these but crafting one takes time and summer is already here! Lace fabrics can be expensive so a cheap alernative can be to use lace curtains or embroidered tablecloths as fabric. Don't even think to touch your grandma tablecloths embroidered with love (i know that grannies don't do this anymore, they wear miniskirts and botox!),have a look in your local market instead i'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

Per l'estate Dolce&Gabbana hanno declinato il vestito in pizzo in tante romantiche versioni. Perfetto per la stagione estiva, indossato sulla pelle dorata, il vestito in pizzo è un classico. Le riviste di uncinetto sono piene di schemi e proposte ma realizzarne uno richiede tempo e l'estate è già qui! Le stoffe di pizzo possono essere costose e una alternativa meno costosa possono essere tende in pizzo e le tovaglie ricamate usate come stoffa. Per carità non tagliate le tovaglie della nonna ricamate a mano con amore (lo so che oggi le nonne indossano minigonne e botox),cercate invece nei mercati locali,sono sicura che troverete quello che cercate.

A NYC Real Wedding | Orange and Yellow Inspiration

I want to share this beautiful NYC wedding shot by New York photographer Sophia Negron.  The wedding took place at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers.  I love the deep oranges, yellows and corals used for the wedding colors and I love all the unique touches the two added to help personalize their wedding day! Check out the scrabble pieces being used as table numbers and placecards.  Such a fun idea!

what do you need? 

artificial flowers

gros grain in various colors (i used white,baby pink and purple)

pink satin ribbon

avrete bisogno di:

fiori in stoffa

gros grain in vari colori

un nastrino di raso per il fiocco

pull  out the plastic pistil

estraete il pistillo in plastica,basterà tirare

sew the petals together and cover the hole left by the pistil with some beads

ricomponete il fiore cucendo i petali uno sopra l'altro e usate qualche perlina per coprire il foro del pistillo

 

 stitch the white gros grain without blocking the thread at the end

eseguite una cucitura sul gros grain bianco senza bloccare il filo

 

and gently pull the thread, you'll see some ripple will form

tirate poi il filo e noterete che il nastro si arriccerà

 

stitch the white gros grain over the pink one

cucite il nostro bianco sopra quello rosa

now stitch the purple gros grain as shown and then press the pleats down with the iron.

I've finished the necklace stitching a row of silver beads between the pleats and then i've added a long satin ribbon at the back of the necklace, you'll fasten the necklace with a fancy bow.

a questo punto cucite il nastro viola come mostrato in figura e poi schiacchiatelo con il ferro da stiro in una direzione ottenendo delle pieghe. Ho completato la collana aggiungendo delle perline argentate tra le pieghe e un nastro di raso sul retro della collana che rifinisce e serve ad allacciare la collana con un fiocchetto.

Emma Watson: feminine with a masculine twist

 Here's Emma Watson showing a feminine outfit with a masculine twist. She has chosen a pair of romantic lace shorts and paired them with a pink blazer then she played all down with a masculine tie. I'm in love with her look: there are very few women who can wear a tie without looking silly! Even if the androgynous look is not for everyone there's still something we can copy from this look and it's how Emma plays with lenghts! What makes her look sexy is the blazer almost as long as her shorts!


Emma Watson si diverte a mescolare il guardaroba femminile con quello maschile. Gli shorts in pizzo,romantici e femminili mettono in evidenza le gambe e vengono sdrammatizzati dal blazer abbinato con la cravatta maschile. Poche donne riescono ad indossare una cravatta senza apparire fuori luogo. Anche se il look androgino non è per tutte c'è ancora qualcosa che possiamo copiare ad Emma: ciò che rende sexy il suo look è il gioco delle lunghezze: il blazer è lungo quasi quanto gli shorts!

My father passed away this morning in New York City after a brief illness. He died peacefully and painlessly, surrounded by his family.

Because at one time he was a rather famous newspaper editor here in New York, I just got a call from Bill Grimes of the New York Times.

He said he had talked to a good number of people worked with my dad at various newspapers over his 50-year career in the business.

"Boy," Grimes said. "He sure was beloved."

He sure was.

We are sad beyond words.
