Beautiful Real New York Wedding Inspiration | Garden City Wedding at Cherry Valley Country Club

How beautiful is this NY wedding! The wedding of Rachel & Paul was on August 14, 2010 was held at country club in Garden City, New York. I just love the pretty soft lighted picts and how Rachel kept it classically elegant with black and white details and only a pop of pink on the bridesmaid bouquets.

Charlie Sheen Wants a Raise...

... for working on a show that has been taken off the air because he couldn't stay sober and has lost his mind.

Or maybe he just a jackass. You be the judge

By the way, what's up with this guy Alex Jones? Apparently he's been to Charlie's house. But does he have to say so NINE times in five minutes.

How many women are we?
Dolce&Gabbana wanted to answer to this question for the upcoming winter portraying women from a lot of angles.
The collection is based on the contrast between masculine and feminine as expressions of different sides of sensuality, a constrast we can see starting from hairstyles.
Long trousers and oversized blazers, masculine shoes and short socks at sight.A masculine but sensual style in details like the suspenders over the naked back and feminine in fur collars and sequin trousers.
Then we see another woman, in floaty chiffon dresses covered with stars,or in tight lace dresses.Stars tell women as divas as the centre of attention. It's a very feminine woman but the masculine style make an incursion in this portrait because chiffon dresses are worn with with socks and men's shoes.
But it is on accessories that the collection reavels its playful nature.Shoes, bags withpiano keys, bangles and earrings with musical notes and tiny bags on belts remember us that sensuality is a game and we can have fun mixing its masculine and feminine ingredients.
The whole collection is very young and fresh.

L'intera collezione è divertente,giovane e fresca.

Opulence by Dolce&Gabbana

If you have a passion for big jewels you may like to wear big collar necklaces or a lot of bangles, jewelled shoulder pads or giant earrings but i'm sure you've never thought of wearing a whole jewelled dress. Yes because this is what Dolce&Gabbana suggest for the next winter. You cannot call these pieces beaded dresses because they are actually built like jewels. We've got giant ruby-red and emerald gem-set and plenty of them, pearls and gold curls which look like filigree.
All these words to say that i find these pieces amazing, they look like the whole crown jewels in just one dress.

Vols Vs. Twits

The battle for Buggy Field between the people who built it and took care of it, and the twits on the Penn Delco school board has been resolved.

My print column is up.

Fineman Gets It

HuffPo's Howard Fineman actually explains the political battle going on in Madison, pretty well.

In the last election, the GOP had a chance to win 20 governorships but only won 12. According to Howard, they were stymied by the political efforts of public employee unions in the 8 they lost and he quotes a GOP operative saying:
"We are never going to win most of these states until we can do something about those unions. They have so much incentive to work hard politically because they are, in effect, electing their own bosses -- the Democrats who are going to pay them better and give them more benefits. And the Democrats have the incentive to be generous."
Howard writes:
This is how top Republicans see the matter: a vicious cycle of union-to-Democrat-to-union power that they are determined to break.
He is quite right about this. And he goes on to show just how much political muscle and money the unions have to elect their own bosses.

It's not just the GOP who should be concerned about this. It's taxpayers, who are finally coming to understand how crooked and expensive this racket is to them. Democrats are much more likely to be willing to raise taxes to pay the people who work to get them elected. This puts them at odds with the vast majority of taxpayers.

For years, Democrats and to some extent Republicans have played this political game. But it is no longer affordable or political feasible.

This is not only how top Republicans see the matter, it is how any honest political analyst sees the matter as well. Fineman, an MSNBC regular, gets it, even if he hesitates in saying so. It's not what most MSNBC hosts want to hear.

Orange

eyeshadow and lipstick:Kiko
blush:shiseido
nail polish:milky

Orange is one of the colors we're going to wear a lot during coming spring.
Why don't take inspiration from our wardrobe and add a touch of orange in our make up bag?
If at first it may sounds crazy but a few touches of orange are a fantastic way to create a bonne mine in a few seconds.
All you really need is just a bright orange eyeshadow you can use as all over.
After applying foundation use the eyeshadow with a big blush to warm up cheeks and eyes.
To keep the make up natural apply mascara with light hand.
Again using eyeshadow you can hightlight lips mixing the orange pownder with a gloss or a lip balm.
The last pic shows an example of how you can sport the look even if maybe model's skin is a little too pale for the color.
If you're not shy then skip the natural look and apply the eyeshadow on eyes with fingers on the mobile eyelid defining well the borders ,you'll obtain a pop contrasted look.

Non siete timide e amate e volete un make up strong?

Go Ahead, Lean On Him

I always liked Bill Withers. I like him even more after seeing Still Bill.

Let's Get Sensitive, Soldiers!

With the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, the Pentagon is instituting gay sensitivity training for U.S. combat troops all the way forward to the battlefield itself.

According to the story:
President Obama signed a bill in December to repeal the ban, called “don’t ask, don’t tell,” which required gay troops to hide their sexuality. However, the ban will stay in effect until the secretary of defense certifies that repeal of the policy will not hurt combat readiness.
Actually, it would probably be more accurate to say that the old DADT policy required gay troops not to flaunt their sexuality and commanders not to pursue the subject.

But the idea of even an hour of sensitivity training leaves much to be desired. All that needs to be said on the subject can be found at the end of the article:
“Professionalism is the expectation across all the services,” Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Steven Hummer, the team’s chief of staff, told the Pentagon‘s news service

“This is a disciplined force, and we expect to see that as the training and repeal go into place. Lastly, respect is what everybody expects to receive and what everybody should give.”
All the "training" that is needed is the command to "respect" each other and do your jobs. That means, bevavior or actions intended to embarrass or take the dignity of a fellow soldier for whatever reason, will be confronted as inappropriate and properly dealt with.

But be assured that the sensitivity training professionals and community would not sit still for that.

And the Winner Is...

John Galliano suspended

News of the day:John Galliano has been suspended as creative director of the Dior Maison.

News of what happened are confused and not confirmed. British fashion designer John Galliano has been suspended as creative director of Christian Dior after he was detained and accused of an anti-Semitic insult.Dior said it is suspending him pending an investigation into the incident in a Paris restaurant on Thursday night. The Paris prosecutor's office said a couple in the restaurant accused Galliano of anti-Semitic insults.A police official said Galliano and the couple also slapped each other. He said Galliano's blood alcohol levels were high. It's not clear if he's been taken in jail or not.His lawers denied the insults. As you can see the matter is complicated and delicate.

In my opionion we have to observe that economic justice seems to be harder than french one.In France the sentence for someone guilty of racist remarks is 6 months of jail and 22.500 euros in fine.Maison Dior, without waiting the result of the investigation, scared of sales decrease, declared Galliano guilty suspending him from his role during the fashion week. It's not clear if the Dior runway will take place as scheduled. I think they too quickly took the distance from a man who made the maison shine for 14 years.Maybe the Country will consider you innocent until proven guilty but don't expect the same treatment from the Money.

Have you seen some images from the fashion weeks?
Winter lights up of bright colors.
And these bright colors mean that a brighter future awaits us.
During hard times collections tend to be sober, designers tend to imagine classical dresses, cuts that don't get old over time to convince the consumer of luxury clothes to invest in their work despite the crisis.
These bright colors mean that the economic crisis is over that customers started to buy luxury again and that designers can go back to their creativity ad imagine more daring clothes.
And even if we are not able to buy luxury we can be amazed by their creative work again and hope that the recovery of the economy will positively affect our lives too. In the meantime our optimism will be shown by the colorful dresses will wear the next winter.
